Since 1989 Halcyon has sung there, and strummed that. A few years ago, singer-songwriter/guitarists Stephanie Callahan and Deb Hunseder started a long break from 25 years of extensive touring that had taken them all over the US, Alaska and some European cities with highlights that included singing the National Anthem a capella for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, and the Atlanta Braves.
During their time off, Steph got into the tech world (POS software), and formed a cover band, The Cheaters. Meanwhile, Deb re-married “the Girl” (20 years later) from their popular song, Every Cell. Deb’s even a Mom now to 10 year old Grace.
“We grew up along side our fans”, says Callahan. “Now we see 2 and occasionally 3 generations at shows. Nothing says, “we still love you”, like that does!” Hunseder adds, “We are honored to have our music ingrained into peoples’ lives and somehow we all became a part of each other. You’re only famous to people who think you are, and that’s good enough for us.”
Whether they duo, add a drummer, bass, or lead guitar onstage, they still have incredible harmonic chemistry. It’s been there since that first meeting, arranged by mutual friends in 1989 at a Debutante Ball. OK, just kidding…really, it was a softball tournament of course.
